(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com) – Even in the face of the coronavirus outbreak, the Democrats continue their partisan anger and politicking.
On Tuesday morning, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer gave a statement that was aired live on CSPAN. In his statement, he explained how the Democrats are worried about the “incompetence and lack of focus” from President Donald Trump.
Should we have expected anything else?
Speaking to an audience of journalists, Schumer said, “Now, I’m going to be blunt. We are very worried about the president’s incompetence and lack of focus on fighting the spread of coronavirus.”
“We believe that his lack of focus, his hamstringing efforts to address this public crisis, and inflicting pain on the stock market. One word could describe thus far the administration’s response: incompetence.”
Schumer of course ignored the fact that the stock market has performed exceptionally well under the Trump administration and recently fell onto hard times as a result of the very real coronavirus scare. He also did not recognize the fact that the Congressional Republicans forced through a much bigger spending bill than the Democrats had proposed, which will aid the coronavirus efforts. President Trump signed into a law a bill promising a massive $8.3 billion in spending.
“The best way we would tell the president, the best way to ensure economic security right now for the American people is to focus on fighting the illness and the spread of the illness,” Schumer said. “Ask any CEO today what they want most. I’ll bet they tell you they want the coronavirus to be contained. What doesn’t help stop the spread of the coronavirus is more corporate tax cuts. Here’s what we’re worried about, that the president will pay attention to the special interests instead of the people.”
Schumer was, of course, wrong. President Donald Trump is preparing to offer hourly American workers the same protection as salaried workers to ensure nobody misses a paycheck during the coronavirus outbreak. He is also planning to offer loans to small businesses and give payroll tax cuts to businesses to ensure this can all happen.
Will the Democrats ever put partisan politics aside for the good of the people?
