(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com)- If you don’t want to catch the Chinese coronavirus, then Dr. Anthony Fauci has a recommendation for you: wear goggles.
Fauci, a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, told ABC News on Wednesday that the virus can be contracted through the nose, mouth, and even the eyes.
“You have mucosa in the nose, mucosa in the mouth, but you also have mucosa in the eye,” Fauci said. “Theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces. So if you have goggles or an eye shield you should use it.”
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who has been at the forefront of the response to the pandemic has been accused of flip-flopping on the wearing of masks and other methods of protecting oneself against the virus. Fauci once told the public that wearing a mask was potentially a bad idea, though in all fairness, this was during a time when authorities believes a rush on masks could stop medical professionals having access to the PPP they needed.
The news that Fauci recommends the wearing of goggles, however, is likely to cause more controversy. Fauci didn’t say you absolutely have to wear the goggles, but that theoretically it’s the only way to stop the virus entering the body if a person is exposed to it.
You can see the interview below in which he makes the recommendation to people who are extremely conscious of catching the virus while out in public.

Fauci also explained that he hopes America will see a reduced spread of the virus as a result of people wearing masks through the rest of summer and the fall. He even suggested that the wearing of masks could also help stop the spread of the seasonal flu.
“It is inevitable that we’re going to have some degree of flu,” Fauci explained. “I’m hoping that the wearing of masks and other coverings are going to not only protect us against COVID-19, but also help protect us against influenza.”
