(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com)- President Donald Trump’s ability to capture the imagination of people online was widely considered to be one of his big advantages in the 2016 election. His hugely popular policies combined with effective social media marketing meant that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton had no chance against him. Google and other Big Tech companies seem to be learning from that, and are taking drastic action to censor the president online and interfere in the upcoming presidential election in whatever way they can.
The latest move by Google is removing conservative news website Breitbart from its search results. A report from Breitbart News explains how Google has been purging the site’s content from its search engine since the 2016 election.
“Search visibility is a key industry measure of how findable a publisher’s content is in Google search,” the outlet reports. “New data shows that Google has suppressed Breitbart’s search visibility by 99.7 percent since 2016.”
Breitbart explains how their website ranked in the top ten search positions for some 355 key search terms on April 4, 2016. As of July 20, however, the site ranks in the top ten search positions for just one search term. That means that Google’s algorithms have changed in a way that specifically disadvantages the conservative news site.
“Moreover, organic Google search traffic to Breitbart (measured by unique visitors) is down 63 percent when comparing the first half of 2016 with the first half of 2020,” the site also claims.
In short, this means that the only people who are likely to read an article published by Breitbart are people who are already aware of and read the website. People who are searching for specific things on Google with the intention of reading news reports are now extremely unlikely to come across any content by Breitbart at all.

Breitbart also explains in the report that after the core search update was made in May, Google stopped any search traffic about presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden going to Breitbart. If you’re searching for any information about Biden’s constant gaffes and his family’s connections to Ukraine, then you’re not going to find it on Google.
