(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com)- Republicans are already preparing to flip Democrat seats to Republican in the 2022 midterm elections, with Senator Rick Scott predicting last Friday that the GOP will beat incumbent Senate Democrats in at least four states.
Speaking to Fox News, Scott revealed that the GOP has “opportunities across the country.”
“Clearly, we’re going to pick up in Georgia. We’re going to pick up Arizona. We’re gonna pick up New Hampshire…we’re going to pick up Nevada,” he said. “But I think we have opportunities across the country. There’s 14 Democrat seats up and I think we can get quite a few of them.”
The ambitious plans will be aided by former President Donald Trump and his upcoming Super PAC, which his team has vowed to use to advance pro-America candidates. Former President Donald Trump also recently endorsed Max Miller in his primary challenge to incumbent GOP Rep. Anthony Gonzalez who voted to impeach him earlier this year.
Senator Scott, the Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, will also lead the party’s coordinated efforts to take back control of the House and maybe even the Senate in 2022. He gave his interview to Fox News shortly after he spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the flagship conservative event of the year.
Senator Scott, a Florida Republican, may struggle to balance his commitment to support incumbent members of Congress as former President Donald Trump wields his power and influence over the Republican base. The NRSC, Scott has repeatedly claimed, will support incumbents, and he also recently sent a memo to other GOP officials in which he said that the civil war within the party was “canceled.”
“Some of you voted for President Trump enthusiastically, some with reservations, and some with great reluctance,” he said. “It doesn’t matter.”
Scott indicated that the Republicans would take back the Senate by focusing on “who the Democrats are” and “who the Republicans are.”
“The Democrat Party has been taken over by socialism,” he said. “That’s not where America is. We’re gonna focus on job creation. The Democrats aren’t. We’re gonna focus on school choice. Clearly, the Democrats don’t even wanna open the schools.”
