(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com)- Robbie Coltrane, the British actor who played the giant “Hagrid” in the Harry Potter films has come out in support of author J.K. Rowling following yet another hate campaign directed at her by radical trans activists.
Rowling recently published a series of essays and tweets in which she said that the radical trans movement denies the existence of women, and trans activists called her a transphobe.
If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth,” she said in a tweet.
It caused chaos online, and just as things were beginning to die down, news of a new book written by the author caused fresh controversy.
Radical trans activists discovered that in an upcoming book written by Rowling, one of the characters is a male serial killer who dresses as a woman when he kills female victims. Despite the story having nothing to do with people who are transsexual – only about a murderous and insane man who kills women – trans activists used it as yet more ammo to attack Rowling.
But during a Radio Times interview, actor Robbie Coltrane called out the culture of being offended, saying that he doesn’t understand what people are so outraged by.
“I don’t think what she said was offensive really,” he said. “I don’t know why but there’s a whole Twitter generation of people who hang around waiting to be offended. They wouldn’t have won the war, would they? That’s me talking like a grump old man, but you just think, ‘Oh get over yourself. Wise up, stand up straight and carry on.’”
Stand up…straight? That’s homophobic!
Coltrane also proved just how difficult it can be to stand up for common sense, saying he didn’t want to “get involved in all of that because of the hate mail and all that sh*t, which I don’t need at my time of life.”
Oh, believe me, it’s coming. Defending J.K. Rowling these days is like defending Hitler. Trans activists say she’s evil.
So far, Coltrane is the only member of the Harry Potter cast to defend the author. Despite the likes of Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson being made millionaires off the back of her story, they not only didn’t come out to defend her but joined in with the trans activists.
