Obama Tries to Take Credit for Booming Economy…Trump Responds

(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com) – The U.S. economy is booming. More people are in work than at any other time in American history, black and Latino unemployment is at a record low, and public confidence in the economy is high. So naturally, former President Barack Obama wants to take credit for it all.

Writing on Twitter, the former president claimed, “Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.”

Obama included a photograph of a pen and his signature on the bill as if to prove he was responsible for the public’s confidence in the economy.

Isn’t it funny how Democrats always want to take credit for the successes of Republican presidents? President Trump has lowered taxes and sought better trade deals for America, but if it had all backfired and plunged the economy into chaos, then Obama wouldn’t hesitate to blame it all on Trump and the GOP!

Naturally, President Trump didn’t take kindly to Obama’s claims.

Responding on Twitter, Trump said, “Did you hear the latest con job? President Obama is now trying to take credit for the Economic Boom taking place under the Trump Administration. He had the WEAKEST recovery since the Great Depression, despite Zero Fed Rate & MASSIVE quantitative easing. Now, best job numbers….”

Trump’s response followed on into a separate tweet, where he finished, “…ever. Had to rebuild our military which was totally depleted. Fed Rate UP, taxes and regulations WAY DOWN. If Dems won in 2016, the USA would be in big economic (Depression?) & military trouble right now.”

The president then signed off with a promise, saying, “THE BEST IS YET TO COME. KEEP AMERICA GREAT!”

Trump has a point. Not only is the economy doing great, but he has had to embark on a spending spree rebuilding the military and redirecting resources to the southern border.

Quite an achievement, after having to pick up from where Obama’s disastrous administration left off.
