(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com)- The polls are in, and it looks like America wants President Donald Trump to return in 2024.
According to a new Politico/Morning Consult survey, an overwhelming majority of Republicans believe that former President Donald Trump should run again in 2024. Should he win, it would be the second time the New York real estate legend was elected to clean up a mess created by Democrats.
The poll was released on Wednesday morning by Politico and it also revealed how Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is now out of step with much of his own party. Even after false claims that President Donald Trump incited a violent insurrection at the Capitol Building, Republicans overwhelmingly support the return of the former president and continue to support his Make America Great Again agenda.
McConnell has yet to confirm which way he will vote when it comes to the unconstitutional impeachment hearing against former President Donald Trump that is expected to begin On February 9. Should he vote to impeach the president for a crime he didn’t commit, not only would he be supporting an unconstitutional hearing organized by the Democrats, but he would be risking his own position in the party.
McConnell previously claimed that President Trump “provoked” the mob that raided the Capitol Building on January 6, but the FBI has already confirmed that the violence began before the president’s speech ended and was pre-organized by extremists on Twitter.
The Politico report revealed how 56% of Republicans think that President Trump should either “probably” or “definitely” run for president again, which is good news for the former president if he decided to throw his hat in the ring again.
Some 36% of Republicans said that a new candidate should be chosen.
“Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters are closely split between the Republican Party and the notional Patriot Party that Trump recently floated,” the outlet said.
“A third (33%) said they are more interested in being a member of the Republican Party, and 30% said they would be more interested in being a member of the Patriot Party. A small share (11%) expressed interest in neither party,” it added.
However, it remains unclear whether President Donald Trump is planning to run again in 2024.
After opening the Office of the Former President in Palm Beach, Florida, President Donald Trump has since committed to helping Republicans take back the House of Representatives in 2022.
And, during a Christmas party in the White House last month, the president teased a third run.
“It’s been an amazing four years. We’re trying to do another four years, otherwise, I’ll see you in four years,” he added.
