(AmericanPoliticalDaily.com)- Well, it finally happened. The White House just officially recognized that there’s a crisis on the southern border…but they haven’t proposed doing anything about it.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was forced to admit that President Joe Biden’s move to reverse President Donald Trump’s strict enforcement of immigration laws had caused more people to storm the border, and for coyotes to smuggle children illegally into the United States.
The massive surge, which saw 100,000 people attempt to illegally cross the border in February – roughly three times the levels seen in the final months of 2020 – prompted President Joe Biden to open additional migrant detention facilities and overflow centers to house the children.
Yes, the same facilities that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her far-left Congressional colleagues called “concentration camps” and “cages.”
“Some more may have come to our border and there have been a large flow of children cross the border,” Psaki said during a White House press briefing. “We recognize that, but we made a policy decision because we felt it was the humane approach.”
Psaki insisted that the “vast, vast majority” of migrants were turned away when they reached the border, but that illegal migrant children will be granted a pathway to citizenship or residency in the United States.
So Democrats are OK with turning away illegal immigrants and throwing children in cages, now?
More than 3,700 illegal alien children are currently being held in border detention facilities while officials prepare to transfer them to facilities run by Health and Human Services. Once processed, the illegal alien children are then released to various sponsors within the United States, who in some circumstances may be relatives of the children who have already gained legal residency in the United States.
It’s the process that has long encouraged families to send their children over the border with human traffickers, and which could eventually allow the parents into the country under family reunification and chain migration laws.
“The president is very focused and very in the weeds of the operational details here,” Psaki said, without offering any idea of what the government is planning to do about the growing numbers of people crossing the border illegally.
“Our focus here is getting to the root of the issues and taking actions, and we don’t feel the need to play games with what it’s called,” she said, refusing to call the problem a crisis.
It’s a crisis, and if it was happening on President Trump’s watch, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would be back at the border and crying in front of fences.
